Medication Overview

Fast Acting Products – Nasal Spray

What it is 

  • Bottled nicotine solution 10mg/ml.
  • Delivers nicotine through nasal mucosa.

How it works

  • Nicotine delivery: Via the nasal mucosa.
  • Absorption rate: 0.5mg each shot.
  • Can be combined with patch.

How it is used

  • Remove protective cap.
  • Prime the pump- place nozzle between first and second finger, thumb at bottom of bottle.
  • 1-2 shots of spray in each nostril every hour (45-degree angle).
  • At least 30 shots a day (up to 64 sprays / day).

Possible side effects

nasal irritation, sneezing, running nose, watering eyes, cough, nausea, headache.
