This is the process followed for payment charges and prescriptions when offering NRT.
1. A client should be asked whether or not they pay for prescriptions, either they will be;
2. A client does not pay for prescriptions, either due to medical exemption or if they are on a low or benefit related income.
3. A client pays for their prescriptions
4. NHS pre-payment certificate (PPC) system, in many cases will be more cost-effective than paying on the spot. individual items.
5. Payment should be taken for NRT at the standard prescription charge rates. Payment is made per item, per supply unless an item is cheaper to purchase than the current prescription fee.
