Fast Acting Products – Lozenge/Mini Lozenges
What it is:
- Sugar-free lozenge.
- Lozenges 1mg, 1.5mg, 2mg & 4mg (original and mini).
- Greater dependence (smokes within 30 mins of waking: use 4mg)
How it works:
- Delivers nicotine to bloodstream through buccal mucosa.
- Oral absorption of lozenge is better than gum.
- Can be combined with patch.
How it is used:
- 1 lozenge every hour or as required to manage cravings/urges to smoke.
- Placed in mouth and use roll and park technique.
Roll & Park
Lozenge placed in mouth and allowed to dissolve. They can be rolled and parked against the gum. Not to be chewed and swallowed.
Possible side effects
throat irritation, hiccups, nausea, headache, jaw pain, sore mouth/throat.
