Open questions give people freedom to talk – one of the principles of MECC.

They allow the talker to tell their story.

How? What? Where? When? Which?

  • How can I help you with ___?
  • How would you like things to be different?
  • When would you be most likely to___?
  • What do you think you will change if you give up ___?
  • What have you tried before to make a change?
  • Which of your previous weight loss methods you tried was your favourite/most successful?
